If we have a BIN file, we have three ways to open it and extract its content. Mednafen don't support mp3 file and never support this format, but you can load cue sheet in wav, ogg, flac or mpc format.Sometimes we can open a BIN file with a file manager, but we can also find some BIN files that have been created by some specific applications on our computer and that must be opened with the same tool with which it was created or with an application of programming. The point of my post was not really to seek help but more to point out something that could be improved to make the emulator better. It would be nice if mp3s were supported too I guess. I got the game to work (Panzer Dragoon)m but I had to convert MP3s to WAV.

Write the name of iso or bin what do you want to emulate and the type of game (psx or saturn), and i will make the cue for you. But I know that advocating for quality of life improvements in open source programs is often useless. The iso creation fails for some reason with the program I'm using.Īnyway, yes I'm lazy and I was hoping that this feature could be implemented since it could probably be useful to other users. Save this file and rename it in "Examplefile.cue" and put this in the same path of iso/bin, now you can load it with mednafen.

If you know how to mount a virtual drive, you will be able to create from this a new cue/bin image, unless you are lazyĬreate a plain text file with notepad on first line point on your iso/bin file example:

I would like to just be able to play the games. I understand that there are options for converting files, but they're complicated and require the use of additional programs. True, but it also allows users to mount cds on a virtual drive. If you think my gui is crappy or shitty, you can convert this file wirh MagicIso for example or mounting it with a virtual clone drive and recreate a cue/bin with a burning software.
#Convert mds to cue windows#
If you are on windows could use my gui that auto create a generic cue for iso file format or for bin without respective cue (expect no audio on many games), it also convert ecm file into a format compatible with mednafen. There is a topic that explain the reason to remove physical CD support but in this compuer era i think not more user use physical CD. I still think it would be nice to support those other formats.ĭo you know why physical CD support was removed as well? It would be an easy way to support different image formats. cue many game run without audio support and example is Dead or alive for psx or many game for sega saturn.Īnyway you can use a trick to run a game in iso format, you must create a generci cue that point to your iso.įor md5/mdf file the best way is to convert it in cue bin with any utility that you can found on the web. Re: Support for MDS/mdf images and raw BIN/ISO īin file are already supported but you must have the respective cue that cointains all reference to subchannell data, without. I think it would make Mednafen that much more convenient. Would it be possible to support MDS/mdf images and raw BIN/ISO?
